JO-1603-328233km. Permanent Registered Nurse – Irish Blood Transfusion Service. In partnership with our clients, The National Blood Transfusion Association, we are seeking a nurse for a permanent role for the organisation. The role involves working in the fixed clinic in Limerick City and on the mobile unit which operates nationwide. About the Client. The National Blood Transfusion Association established in 1948 was wound up in 1965 and replaced, under the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961, by the Blood Transfusion Service Board (BTSB). In 1975 and 1991 respectively the Cork and Limerick Blood Transfusion Services were absorbed by the BTSB. The BTSB changed to the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) in 2000, The IBTS have also opened a new centre in Carlow in September 2000 and more recently in Ardee, Co Louth and in D’Olier Street, Dublin. There are over 600 staff currently employed by the IBTS, 300 of those being in the National Blood Centre, IBTS Headquarters, James’s Street, and Dublin 8. In 1998 there were 365 employees in the IBTS. Salary – Department of Health pay scales. Essential criteria. To be registered with NMBI in the General Division. To have name maintained on the live register of NMBI. To have a minimum of 3 years post registration experience, 2 of which must be working within the acute sector (in the last 3 years. Evidence of recent post registration/education learning. Demonstrate an awareness of current issues in nursing. Demonstrate involvement in professional development both personal and others.
