RGN, Blood Transfusion (Limerick) We are working with the national blood transfusion service to recruit registered general nurses for full-time, permanent positions in Limerick. This position will play a key role as part of the blood collection team to ensure an efficient, effective and safe blood component collection process. You will be accountable for maintaining a high standard of donor/patient and nursing care; developing clinical expertise, preceptorship, and assessment skills through clinical practice and supervision in the IBTS. Your duties will include: Practicing within the Code of Practice guidelines from An Board Altranais and within the Nursing and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s. Participating and contributing to Donor recruitment, selection and retention programs. Completing and documenting assessments in a thorough and accurate manner. Working with CNM to develop and provide frameworks for all aspects of clinical practice whilst advocating for the health and rights of Donors/patients and staff. Providing safe and comprehensive care. Promoting a team spirit that will ensure a pleasant, efficient and effective working environment and a quality experience for Donors. Holding responsibility for organising and prioritising workload under the direction of the CNM as well as taking clinical leadership of clinics in the absence of the CNM. Teaching and guiding other staff members by participating in training and clinical updates as well as acting as Preceptor and mentor to staff as required. To be considered you will possess: NMBI registration. A minimum of 3 years post registration experience. An awareness of current issues in nursing. An ability to demonstrate involvement in professional development. Experience of clinical teaching, Teaching & Assessment Module/Course (not essential.
