SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEERS required by CareerWise Recruitment for our medical device client for their new R&D Centre in Limerick. The SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER supports Product Development/Maintenance with Verification and Validation to Test and Qualify Products and Solutions. THE ROLE: * Idividual contributor and/ or a designated contact point to represent Test Engineering in a cross functional project team. * Collaborates with project's cross functional contact points to derive Requirements, Specifications and provides schedule and resource estimations. * Demonstrates technical competencies, understands Requirements, Design and Implementation level details of the Products under tests. * Assigns tasks based on skillsets and bandwidths. * Reviews Tasks progresses and Test reports & documents. Provide guidance to tackle problems and mentors to improve Test Engineers' technical and soft skills. * Exhibits awareness and tracks project related risks from the Test Schedules, Quality, Hazard and Compliance risks. * Participates in hands-on creation, manual and automated execution of Test cases / Test Protocols. * Reviews and Analyzes reported anomalies to obtain resolutions from Software, System, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams. * Supports Software, Systems and Engineering Teams with Trouble shooting, Characterization and Validation activities for Prototypes, Breadboards and Sub-Systems. * Supports Service/Training organization for troubleshooting customer complaints. * Support Manufacturing for Test Tool verification and knowledge transfer. * Provides Testing support to Sustaining activities. * Passionately leads from the front to architect, develop, execute and measure effectiveness of automation. * Engages in continuous improvement to enhance Test Automation, Test Architecture, Test Coverage and Test Leadership skills. * Handles adverse and sensitive situations with professional maturity and fortitude. Participates in industry forums to learn industry developments in Testing, Tools & Technologies to analyze and propose solutions to improve the efficiencies and effectiveness in terms of cost and test quality. * Exhibits business acumen and awareness of customer urgencies while communicating Schedules, Test Progress and Quality assessments. REQUIREMENTS: * Strong Interpersonal skills to work in a cross functional team to complete Testing Tasks as per Project's and BD's quality needs and timelines. * Proven and Creative Testing skills with attention to details. Thinks out-of-box to discover product anomalies and helps improve the test efficiencies and effectiveness. * Familiar with Industry standard processes of Software and System development cycles. Understands specifications and requirements to create Test Protocols and Test Cases to provide optimal test coverage and speed of execution. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technically and professionally describe test scenarios, deviations, non-compliances and risks. * Proven experience of leading one or more test engineers. * Experienced with Defect Tracking Tools, Requirement Management and Test Management Tools such as TFS, HP ALM (Quality Center), Cognition Cockpit. * Generated and Analyzed Test related metrics using the data from the defect management systems. * Four Years Undergraduate degree preferably in Engineering or Science. * 5 Years of Software / System Testing experience preferably in an embedded / hardware environment with automated tests. * 2-4 years of experience in developing automation frameworks and automating test cases Microsoft Windows / Embedded Windows Environments using popular commercial or open source tools such as Tricentis Tosca, QTP, CodedUI, AutoIT, Selenium, C#, C , JavaScript, Selenium, AngularJS, etc. * Ability to create simple SQL Scripts, * API Validations in C#, C , JavaScript environments. * Familiarity with FDA regulations for Medical Instruments, ISO 14971, IEC 62304 standards. * Familiarity with Agile Methodologies. * Familiarity with Design For Six Sigma standards.
