An Operations Manager is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Mid-West based client. Operations Manager with Cross site responsibility and manufacturing management experience within the chemical manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage. THE ROLE: * Responsible for the day to day meeting of production schedules. * Performance management of shift supervisors and operators - ensuring proactive employee relations and speak-up/collaborative culture. * Takes the lead in projects involving the upgrading and automation of older plant and equipment. * Will be involved in the design and build of scaled-up plant based on pilot-plant studies. * Production participant on, Risk Assessment, Quality and health and safety issues. * Liaises with all functions to ensure process execution through cross functional influencing. * Drives continuous improvement initiatives across the operations in areas of Quality, Safety, Cost and People (e.g. COL. * Works in conjunction with Quality to ensure Product Quality and compliance with the Quality system at all times. * Ensuring that all Safety, Health Environmental and Quality compliance goals with regards to registered standards are achieved. REQUIREMENTS: * BSc / BEng, Msc / MEng, in chemical /mechanical engineering / or science equivalent. * Proven capacity for the execution and coordination of all Production activities. * Proven management and leadership ability. * A minimum of 5 years' experience working within the chemical manufacturing industry at supervisory management level. * Experience in equipment and technology design, selection, testing and procurement.
