Golf Manager Something magical is happening in Adare Manor.... Adare Manor is presently undertaking an exciting refurbishment of our award-winning golf course. World-renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio and his team at Adare Manor are creating the latest addition to their portfolio of incredible golf courses. Refurbishment work began at Adare Manor in March 2016. This has included the complete rebuilding of all greens, tees, fairways and bunkers. The entire golf corridor has been reshaped and sand-capped. A new irrigation system has been put in place. 75,000 metres of main line drainage has been installed. A modern fleet of golf carts and brand new rental golf sets have been ordered. A new purpose built Pro Shop is being constructed just next to our fabulous new locker rooms. It will be one of a handful of golf courses worldwide that feature cutting-edge SubAir technology beneath every putting surface. Once completed the golf course at Adare Manor will be one of the best designed and finest maintained golf courses in Europe. We are currently looking for a Golf Manager to join our team. As a Golf Manager you will be responsible for: Rostering Pro Shop workers based on levels of business both in golf and also on property and assist the Outdoor Supervisor/Caddymaster with roster for outdoor services. Compiling uniform rosters for the Pro Shop and will monitor punctuality, appearances and grooming standards throughout the golf department. Co-ordinating any golfing events on the Resort, liaising with relevant personnel as required (e.g. Golf Superintendent,, Events, Management etc.) which may include, member events where attendance at evening prizegiving receptions and compering may be required. Assisting with the management of the tee sheet working closely with the reservations team to ensure that maximum yield can be achieved, ensure all VIP guests are flagged and any specific instructions are communicated to all staff within the department, to constantly review the tee sheet and booking system looking for patterns, discrepancies and potential sales opportunities from groups and individuals. Organising and overseeing details relating to relevant tournaments and competitions being held on the course, liaising with relevant personnel to ensure that all arrangements are made. Liaising with the ground and auxiliary teams to ensure that all soft supports are in place for any event e.g. security, stewards, course marshals / volunteers etc. Effectively overseeing the Outdoor Services operation and make known any concerns or possible improvements. Managing the Pro Shop effectively including the sourcing and purchasing of shop stock in order to achieve target revenues. This involves researching current trends, historical sales in Pro Shop, current stock levels and percentage sales over that season, space available in Pro Shop, forecasting. Organising with the sales representatives of each company the schedule for buying and has good working relationship with said representatives. Preparing reports on shop sales, discounts applied, high and low selling items/ brands, feedback from guests, staff performances, margins and any pricing concerns. Creating a customer service oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the members and guests. Ensures that all colleagues provide a high level of customer service. Being operationally involved in the golf area in a 'hands on' capacity, leading by example, e.g. closing sales within the Pro Shop, training caddies, engaging with members and Guests and should have a high profile/presence in the workplace particularly during busy times. Being fully familiar with the internal operations of all aspects of the Golf Club & Manor House facilities - ensuring that standards are adhered to and Guests/Members receive the highest levels of service and product delivery. Ensuring that effective communications take place to ensure the relevant information is exchanged within all departments and personnel within the facility as well as with the hotel and shared with the Golf Department Team. Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the departments. Enhancing the overall experience of the Golf Club facility for members and guests who use the resort and to liaise with members/guests on a regular basis with regard to their requirements/feedback, communicating this to the General Manager and following up as appropriate. Conducting show-arounds of the golf facility to guests and clients showing an excellent knowledge of all facilities available and to attend occasional out of hours functions related to sales opportunities. Being able to work as part of a sales team within the golf department but also on a global level encompassing the entire Resort. Bring new ideas from throughout the industry to empower the golf team and also the sales team, he or she will regularly update them on course updates, course accolades, upcoming events, players who are playing or have played at Adare Manor and any other relevant information.
