Our Client a multinational company based in Limerick is currently recruiting an Automation Engineer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis - this position will be worked on a shift basis. An excellent salary and benefits are on offer for this position. Job Overview. Provide specialist engineering, automation/control support and technical leadership within the factory for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Electricity and Automation (E&A), and FAS (Factory Automation Systems / Industrial IT), encompassing operational activities, maintenance and projects. Job Responsibilities. Ensure Process & Equipment safety for people, products and environment and that one exhibits an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. Ensure that the Change Management is in place to appropriately manage modifications in the MES-E&A solutions. Ensure that the performance of automation and MES at factory site level, are in line with the production requirements. Participates in the implementation of engineering tools at site level (i.e. NSAT, NEST, AMM. Ensure that all MES-E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards. Ensure that the key MES-E&A documentation is up-to-date and in place (i.e. SLD, URS, FDS, Calibration procedures, etc.). MES-E&A engineers play a key role in the continuous improvement of our factories through mastering the process and product characteristics. The MES-E&A engineer must have a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting the technological knowhow and competitive advantage. Education and Experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Automation and/or MES engineer, with Electrical experience. Recommendation to have participated in an MES-E&A Engineering College. Personnel Supervisory experience (with technical teams, mechanical and electrical (contractors, suppliers or other 3rd parties. Participation in the trouble shooting and the various aspects of maintenance of a manufacturing plant. Participation in the start-up or commissioning of technical equipment and/or production line(s. Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired but not required.
