Technical Support Engineer required by CareerWise Recruitment for our client based in the MidWest. THE ROLE: Our Client in the Shannon area has identified a requirement for a Technical Support Engineer to work within the company, that once trained, will have regular interaction with production and R &D staff through assisting them and customers/distributors with various technical queries that arise on a daily basis. These queries can arise from various sources such as product queries, incoming material issues, technical application queries that stem from queries from customers/distributors etc. The candidate once trained will have regular contact with existing distributors and customers. This can involve courtesy visits/calls and may involve meeting with potential customers. Whilst a lot of interaction with customers will be done from facility in Shannon, travel may become a necessary element of the role once the candidate is established in his or her position, with the frequency and duration varying. REQUIREMENTS: * Material Science/Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree (Level 8. * 3 years in industry with appropriate technical experience in these fields. * Punctual, ability to work independently and autonomously, to assume responsibility while able to integrate into practical day to day activities when necessary. * Ability to make decisions, be progressive and ability to find solutions in a technical environment. * Adaptability is a key requirement, as is fluent written and spoken English, and a personality that is very customer focused at all times.
