Unijobs DAC are currently recruiting for the position of an Assistant Printroom Operator, on behalf of our client. The role is anticipated to be 6 months in duration. Reporting to the Printroom Operator, you will work as part of a team to provide professional Printing services and support as required. You will work collaboratively with other ITD Printroom staff and the Manager to ensure delivery of planned goals as per key accountabilities. Key Responsibilities: Comprehensive central printing services. Operate related workstation applications and hardware in the Printroom environment & Student cashier print credit system. Operate standard Printroom equipment. Determine work priorities and schedule work, expedite workflow. Maintain records for all charges on printers and cash registers. Deal with customers via face-to-face contact, telephone, post and email. Operate digital on-demand print submission and printing. Maintain the integrity of any confidential information relating to students, staff and faculty submitted for printing. Report faults to the current supplier of Print equipment (Xerox/IBS) and also maintain an internal log of machine problems. Flexible in regard to the allocation of specific duties will be necessary. Accordingly, the list of duties detailed above is not intended to be exclusive or restrictive. Requirements of the role: The post-holder will ordinarily work from the ITD Printroom. Coverage in the Printroom is essential from 9hr00 until 17hr15. Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Requires bending, squatting and reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights, up to 30lbs. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The Printroom can be noisy and protective gear is required as needed. Understand and adheres to policy and procedure within own department. Desirable Skills. Familiarity with on-demand printing/reprographics. Knowledge of a variety of information systems used for managing data such as the Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with basic record keeping and handling cash. Essential Skills: Evidence of excellent customer service delivery. Evidence of high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Communication skills - excellent verbal and written communication skills need to confer with clients about details of a print order. Computer skills - printing process is computer-based, requiring operators to have good computer skills. Detail oriented - must pay attention to detail to identify and fix problems with print jobs prior to submission to print & completion. High level of proficiency in MS Office. Ability to contribute to and work as part of a team. Ability to make best use of own time and meets deadlines. Ability to work on own initiative. Unijobs is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
