We are recruiting an Automation Lead for our Manufacturing Client in Limerick. This is an initial 12 month contract role. The Automation Lead will operate within one of the existing four cycle shift patterns working as part of the front line support team for the automation group. The candidate will work within the current automation team lead support group (two technicians per shift) as an additional resource to ensure that adequate support can be provided to the production equipment. The role is shift based in accordance with one of the existing shifts but will report up to and be managed through the Engineering group reporting up to the Automation Engineering Manager. Role. Fault-find complex automation equipment. Work as part of the Automtion Engineering team in order to develop strong proficiency with problem solving. Develop an in-depth knowledge of all control systems currently in use across the entire plant including PLC's, vision systems, lasers, Barcode readers, RFiD readers, Robots and networks. Develop and publish comprehensive trouble shooting articles for all complex problems that have been solved. Help with training of existing Process Technicians to build on technical support within the operations team. Operate as first point of call person for automation related line down problems and also as point of contact for external escalation to automation engineering group. Work directly with Automation Engineers to develop solutions to line runability issues. Become part of the potential pipeline into the Automation Engineering group. Experience. Time served qualified electrician with experience of industrial or environments and exposure to production or equipment maintenance. Level 7 or 8 Automation Engineer or equivalent. Experience in Medical Device or high volume manufacturing environment. Good understanding of servo motor closed loop control systems. Good understanding of process PID control. Good understanding of logical and sequence control. Good understanding of Robot control systems. Additional knowledge of vision systems and RFID technology would be an advantage.
