Collins McNicholas currently have an exciting opportunity for a Manager – R&D with one of their clients in the Mid-West Region. This role is a permanent position. The following are the key requirements for the role: Responsibilities: Ensuring the alignment of product value proposition, program scope, and strategic business objectives to the MMS Infusion business strategy. Manage the R&D Budget. Strategic planning and ongoing transition toward platform/product paradigm, common architecture and technology reuse. Process driven approach to the product development effort in order to provide continuous improvement, with high quality, remaining in budget, while cultivating innovation and teamwork throughout the business. Constructively challenges the organization to rethink assumptions and approach headwinds in new ways. Collaborate closely with all functional areas necessary to aggressively advance products from proof of concept through development, validation and product launch. Contribute to the development, implementation & protection of our IP strategy, proposing responses to disruptive technologies or competitive threats that impact the business. Sustain a culture that will attract and retain key talent. Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in engineering degree: biomedical, science, medical, industrial, mechanical - MBA desirable. A minimum of 12 years relevant experience in new product development and project management of successful cross-functional leadership in a matrix organization. Previous experience in Med Tech industries that develop electromechanical/software systems is preferred. Must have demonstrable examples of bringing a product through the full lifecycle to market. Experience leading hardware and software development teams. A proven track record of executing of all aspects of product development including requirements, design, development, verification and validation as well as other aspects (e.g. performance, security, usability, scalability, install-ability, supportability) relevant to the final commercialized product. Proven expertise in developing and moving existing products to new IT platforms, as well as embracing a platform/product development paradigm. Proven success building employee engagement; creating, communicating and building understanding of a shared vision. Exceptional critical thinking and change management skills. Demonstrates a high level of business acumen integrated across finance, marketing, sales, service, R&D and manufacturing. Requires polished presentation skills to executive leadership level. Represents self and program with an executive presence with a global and company mindset. Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
