JOB PURPOSE: To be a member of the biology team to aid in the operation of the biology lab and support the biology team in the development and validation of protocols on high quality instrumentation, as per the business schedule, from the Limerick facility. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support for biologist’s set-up and biological process development. Responsible for stock taking and order processing in the biology lab. Responsible for receiving and shipping biology lab goods. Responsible for day to day cleaning of the labs and waste tracking, coordination and disposal. Provide assistance in the update of all biological procedures. Provide assistance in generating and maintaining SOP’s for biology lab equipment. Responsible for the calibration schedule of biology lab assets. Provide assistance in maintaining and tracking chemical data sheets. To maintain neat and accurate records. To perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by manager or as required to support the business. Employee must follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as provided by the company where specified. Some degree of manual handling is common with the daily intake of samples and supplies. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Must be able to adequately perform required job functions with accurate and timely execution, strict attention to safety and quality, and minimal supervision. Prior understanding and experience in cGMP/GLP and GDPs practices and EHS requirements is preferred, but not a requirement. Ability to comply with all applicable SOPs, internal Quality requirements and external regulations is a must. Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional teams is necessary. Skill in communicating/escalating critical issues to appropriate management is necessary. Proficiency in the use of computer programs (Office)/systems is essential.
