I have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer with a leading national distribution and supply solutions company in Shannon, Clare. Due to their continued success they are seeking a Buyer to join their team in Shannon. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' experience working as a Buyer with knowledge of MRO spare parts. This is an excellent company to work for and have very low turnover of staff. Positions do not come up very often with this company and they are offering a very competitive salary for the right person. Responsibilities: Operate as an on-site Buyer. On a day-to-day basis in conjunction with his/her support team in client facility place stock replenishment orders and arrange the necessary logistics to insure the correct product is delivered in a timely manner. Providing price quotations to CUSTOMER upon request (within 48hrs) and maintain records of quotations provided for audit purposes. To work closely with Customers Purchasing and Finance teams to insure a smooth process flow through purchase, receipt and issue. Responsible for placing purchase orders for new and existing products. Identifying and managing cost improvement initiatives and embedding best practice in supplier relationship management. Liaise with external suppliers, Customer Engineering, third party sub-contractors and all aspects of the operation, to maintain proactive successful relations. Issue, receive and manage Customer owned Inventory and Company's Consignment Inventory utilizing the Customers stock management systems. Utilise the Company's ERP system for processing Sales Orders and controlling Company's owned inventory. Monitor and review performance against agreed plans and budgets, taking prompt and appropriate action to correct any shortfalls in performance. Review operating systems, procedures and practices on an ongoing basis, recommending any changes to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency to reduce costs. Review all stocking profiles and identify procedures that can effectively be implemented to reduce any related cost. Requirements. Must have 3-5 years purchasing experience. Proficient in MS tools, Word / Excel / Project / PowerPoint etc. Must have worked previously on ERP systems. Project management skills. Communication skills. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving team environment. Good negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Understanding of supply chain systems and processes; Attention to detail. Self-Starter.
