A large electronics company is currently seeking to expand their New Products Team and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer. Primary Purpose & Function The primary role of the Electrical Engineer will be to act as the subject matter expert in the areas of design for Signal Integrity, schematic design, component selection, PCB design / layout, sample build, and test. Main Duties & Responsibilities Electrical design of high data rate connectors and electronic assemblies, responsibilities to include: Electrical component selection in coordination with global procurement teams. Schematics development (circuit & magnetics topology. PCB layout & DFM. Knowledge of design & test for EMC/EMI compliance. Electrical Testing. Customer design support for system level transmission compliance. Support to technical customer base and Standards Association activities. Knowledge/Qualifications. Level 8 Hons Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, preferably a Masters. 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant field. Proven history of successful project execution in a manufacturing environment. Signal Integrity / Electromagnetic transmission lines experience an advantage. Magnetics design, specification & optimisation skills. Knowledge of Ethernet transmission. Experience and understanding of network analysers & S-Parameter measurements. Strong programming skills including LabView. PCB software experience, preferably Altium Designer. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
